One you have the software installed, you need to enable the DVD or CD Sharing feature in the Mac’s System Preferences or the Windows Control Panel. The Mac without the disc drive can also borrow the disc drive of a PC on the network, as long as the PC is running Windows XP Service Pack 2 or later and has the DVD or CD Sharing Update 1.0 for Windows software installed.
In addition to the network connection, the computers doing the sharing need to be running at least Mac OS X 10.4.11 with the DVD or CD Sharing Setup Update for Mac v1.0 installed.
